NEW DELHI: Kieron Pollard played only for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The West Indies star all-rounder became a hot-pick at the 2010 auction after impressive performances in 2009 Champions League Twenty20 and the Big Bash.
After aggressive bidding between Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, a ‘silent-tiebreaker’ was won by the Mumbai Indians. Since then, Pollard played for the Mumbai-based franchise playing a pivotal role in their five IPL titles.
After playing for Mumbai Indians for 13 seasons, Pollard announced his retirement from IPL in 2022 and was appointed as batting coach for the franchise.
But the big-hitting all-rounder is set to return to the field when he was named as captain of MI New York for the inaugural season of Major League Cricket 2023.
