NEW DELHI: Cheteshwar Pujara provided a new life to his dwindling Test career by breaking the century drought on the third day of the first Test against Bangladesh on Friday in Chattogram.
Pujara, who scored his last Test hundred in January 2019 against Australia in Sydney, brought up his 19th century off just 130 balls. It was also Pujara’s fastest Test century in his 97-match career.
The right-handed Pujara shifted the gears after scoring his half-century off 86 balls as his next fifty came from just 43 balls.

Soon after Pujara’s hundred, India declared their second innings at 258/2 to set Bangladesh a massive victory target of 513.
Earlier, Shubman Gill also hit his maiden Test century scoring 110 off 152 balls with the help of 10 fours and three sixes.
