In a strategic move, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has disclosed its initial list of 195 candidates for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to contest from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, while Home Minister Amit Shah will vie for victory from Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The list, presented by BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde, includes 34 Union Ministers and Ministers of State, showcasing a formidable lineup. Notably, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will seek re-election from Lucknow, and Smriti Irani is slated to contest from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. This proactive announcement precedes the formal notification of Lok Sabha poll dates by the Election Commission.
