NEW DELHI: A pumped up Mohammed Siraj extracted sweet revenge on Bangladesh batter Litton Das on the second day of the first Test in Chattogram.
Siraj came up with an epic response, cleaning up Das after words were exchanged between the two in the second session on Thursday, warranting internvention by the umpires.
The incident took place in the 14th over of the Bangladesh innings when Das was seen making a few gestures at Siraj after playing a defensive stroke. It irked Siraj, who then shot back at the batter.
Walking up to Siraj then, Das gestured with his hand on ears to imply ‘what were you saying?’. The umpires were quick to respond to the situation and separated the two players.
But on the very next delivery, Siraj cleaned up Das as the ball got the toe end of Das’s bat and crashed into the stumps.
Following the dismissal, Siraj celebrated sarcastically with a finger on the lips and mimicked Das’s gesture as he walked back to the pavilion.
